A Palm Coast tradition since 1999, established by Artistic Director, Cheryl Robinson. CAS is the premier performance choir in Flagler
County. Members are avocational singers who maintain a high level of vocal artistry. Over the past few season, CAS has reduced the size
of its chorus in order to be more flexible with regard to repertoire and to cultivate the highest level of performance quality. CAS

We as a chapter are part of the national group, CPSA, the Colored Pencil Society of America. It was founded over twenty
years ago and grew into an organization that now has a yearly International Convention and Exhibition in various
cities across the country. This International Convention (which is in Northern
Kentucky/Cincinatti in summer 2012) brings members together annually to network with other artists across
the country, attend the membership meeting, attend the Exhibition and Awards Banquet, and take
workshops from notable artists in this field. Members who cannot attend this convention, are able to see
the judged results of the competition on the CPSA website and through the CPSA publication.
Anyone who is interested is welcomed at our meetings – no experience
necessary! Many people get started in this medium after going to one meeting or show. They
are fascinated with the vast possibilities of colored pencil. Several of our members offer basic classes for you
to get started. Our Chapter also sponsors workshops with nationally known colored pencil artists to help us
learn new techniques and refine our skills. We usually meet in the Palm Coast area, having 2nd Sunday meetings and
sketch sessions. The CPSA DC117 Chapter of Augustine was officially recognized and voted in by CPSA National at the CPSA
International Convention in 2005 held in Chicago. In addition to our Sunday meetings and sketch sessions, we host workshops.
While we are a small group, we wish to share our talents and colored pencil & art information. We welcome all

The club sponsors a wide variety of activities during the year. In addition to our monthly meetings we schedule at least one club event
each month including boat cruises, raft-ups, poker runs and other social events. We hold annual holiday parties and an annual picnic.
The highlight of our year is our Commodore’s Ball where we honor our club’s legacy and celebrate the election of our new commodore and
other club officers. Our activities are always designed to encourage maximum participation, enjoyment, and fellowship among our

The Florida Writers’ Association (FWA) encourages all aspiring writers to nurture their craft. The Palm Coast Chapter provides a tool
for locals to gather, share and learn together. We’re all about “writers helping writers.” FWA/Palm Coast was formed in

The roadways identified on this Heritage Corridor, located in Flagler, Volusia and St. Johns Counties, endow the traveler with a unique
agricultural and river to sea experience. The historic communities of Espanola, Bunnell, and Flagler Beach are tied to Florida’s early
transportation. Take a ride down Old Dixie Highway, built in 1914. It is the longest continuous 9 miles of original brick road in the
Southeastern United States. Old Kings road is the oldest commercial road in Florida built by British Engineers around 1776. The
Heritage Crossroads: Mile of History corridor is composed of the following roadways: Old Kings Road (19 miles), US 1 (19 miles), CR 205
(5 miles), Old Brick Road (9 miles), CR 205 (4 miles), SR 100 (13 miles), SR 11 (15 miles) and John Anderson Highway (5 miles).

It was recently estimated that upwards of 15 million enthusiasts enjoy pitching horsehoes in the United States and Canada, in
tournaments, leagues, recreation areas and backyards. The origin of this sport goes back to the days of the Roman Empire. Roman
soilders pitched horseshoes for discarded from the horses used to drive thier chariots. Soldiers in the American Revolutionary War
pitched horseshoes for recreation. Here in Palm Coast the members pitch them for fun. The NHPA is a federation of 60 charters in the
United States and Canada, each with numerous club affiliates and individual members. Each state association is self-governing. The Palm
Coast Horseshoe Club has many long time members and are always looking for new people who want to learn the skills needed for this

From mid-November to mid-April local boaters and beachgoers are likely to encounter North Atlantic right whales all along the 19 miles
untouched beach Flagler County offers.

During April through September in Flagler Beach sea turtle’s nest on our beaches every year and are monitored on a daily basis until
they hatch. The Volusia-FlaglerTurtle Patrol is a non-profit organization dedicated to the protection of sea turtles. The group
patrols 25 miles of beach from May 1st until the end of September, looking for turtle crawls. When we find a fresh crawl, we determine
whether it is a nest or false crawl (non-nesting emergence), then we mark the nest of with four stakes and a ribbon, affix a FDEP
(Florida Department of Environmental Protection) sign stating that it is a turtle nest and not to disturb it. We also complete a
nesting report and plot the crawl on an aerial photo. All nests are monitored on a daily basis until they hatch. Once they hatch, we do
a nest evaluation to determine the success of the nest.
