Flagler County Tourism Launches
“YOUR FLAGLER FAVORITES”
Commissioner Milissa Holland and the Flagler County Tourism Team are pleased to announce a new campaign that will look to its residents to share some of their favorite things to do in the county. The campaign, which will run for five weeks, officially launched Monday, June 11.
Residents and visitors are encouraged to log on to the Visit Flagler Facebook page (www.facebook.com/visitflagler) to see how they can participate.
“We are looking for a wide variety of ‘favorites’ including trails, parks, restaurants, fishing spots, golf courses, attractions and of course any secret spots in the county,” said Milissa Holland, Chair of the Flagler County Tourist Development Council.
There will also be two separate contests running on Facebook called “Your Flagler Favorites” and “The Hidden Flagler.”
In the “Your Flagler Favorites” promotion, “fans” can submit photos of themselves enjoying all that Flagler County has to offer visitors. The winning photo will be the one that earned the most “likes.”
“The Hidden Flagler” will consist of the tourism staff uploading an “obscured” photo every couple of days from a recognizable location where “fans” try and guess where the photo is from. For every right guess they are entered into the contest. Names may be submitted one time per photo.
“Flagler County has such a wide variety of activities and points of interests that many of our own residents are not fully aware of what is in their own backyard,” said Holland. The tourism staff is hoping the campaigns will assist them in creating customized itineraries and vacation packages for future visitors. The packages and itineraries will be featured on the www.visitflagler.org web site.
